About Helen
Helen is an ex-Primary School teacher in the Enfield Borough. After Graduating with a Drama BA Honours Degree at Queen Mary University, she went on to teach and lead throughout various primary schools. Her main focus and drive was Performing Arts, Drama and Literacy. She decided to combine these art forms together and opened The Artz Kidz in 2018 – with a strong focus on Life skills – helping all children to thrive.
About Helen
The Arts have been a huge part of my life since a young age and so I decided to open this school to share my life experiences and my love for the Arts with you. I have danced, sang and acted since the the age of 4 and went on through my life to compete with dance across the country. I graduated with a Drama BA Honours Degree and during this study time, I ran workshops in a range of settings and learnt how drama can help impact people’s lives for the better.
I went on to become a successful Primary School Teacher in the Enfield Borough and taught from Reception to Yr 6 for over 13 years. During this time, I became a ‘Performing Arts’ and ‘Literacy’ leader, driving these areas to become successful within different schools. I explored and embedded many programs including ‘Literacy Through Art’ and the ‘Power of Reading’ and saw children’s thirst for books, drama and art thrive!
And so, over the years, I found a way to focus my attention on BLENDING all of these ‘Art’ forms together to create The Artz Kidz! I launched in 2018 when on maternity leave with my second baby. I launched a school that filled the gaps of creativity, that schools don’t have the time/capacity for. The Artz Kidz encourages every child to be themselves, allowing them to really shine and remain a child for as long as possible.
From the Heart…
It is important to state that every child is valued and appreciated. We try our hardest to get to know each and every individual and to meet their needs accordingly. Some children may need some time to come out of their shell and others will have already found their platform in life – we cater for them all. Being a primary school teacher for many years, I have taught so many different children across all the year groups – but they have also taught me. We learn from one another. The space in which we work is neither intimidating nor pressurising. We want our Artz Kidz to feel relaxed and at home and only then, in that comfortable space will they feel free to enjoy the session to its fullest.
We do not work towards a ‘production’ as such, but we focus on the skills and the progression over time. We still share our work with parents, but again within a non-pressurised environment; either through mini exhibitions or invitations into the classes themselves.

How We Are Different
We are a skills-based school and work in a very unpressurised environment. The children are encouraged to participate in workshops through stories and different themes, which help to kee sessions fun and engaging. We merge the different art forms together in a creative light, which also encourages the children’s imagination and creativity to grow.
Our teachers are nurturing and professional. We are qualified within Primary Schools and Theatre Schools with lots of experience. Our priorities are to keep children happy and safe at all times.

The Artz Kidz are amazing and made the party stress free for the adults! The children were engaged for the full 1.5hrs with lots of fun games, activities and crafts. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again and recommend to others.
Can't recommend Artz enough! My daughter has been attending holiday camps since she was 4 and all staff are extremely kind and accommodating. We don't feel so guilty about working when our daughter is having such a great time and learning lots of new fun skills and games!
Thank you Helen and the whole team for putting so much effort into everything you do and all our children! My 4 year old twins loved the October camp. First time we've been to the pre-school sessions with Artzkidz but the transition to a full day of activity was seamless. Lovely welcome too!
Arts Kidz has been running for years now and have gone from strength to strength. My child loves the activities and games set up the staff and teachers present are professional and engaging. I highly recommend Arts Kidz
